Thank you to the Officers and Committee of L.K.A.. for giving me the opportunity to judge Japanese Chins. It was a privilege to judge at such a well-organised show where the hospitality was first class. My winners were well within the breed standard for size and full of breed type. I had just one concern both as an owner of this wonderful breed and as a judge that there were a few dogs that do not have the compactness of body nor the desired width of chest as required in the breed standard. That said all the dogs were beautifully presented and my winners were well within the standard for size and full of breed type. Thank you to my stewards, for keeping the ring in good order.

Minor Puppy Dog (8, 2abs)
1st Davidson SHARLARNA VALENTINO
An 8 mth old pup that had a good breadth to skull, large dark eyes and delightful expression. He stands four square and when looking at him in side profile you see a moderate length of neck, well laid back shoulders, level topline and wagging tail set on high and carried correctly. He has a most attractive head, dark eyes and small neat ears. His coat is silky in texture and already has good length to it. He has well turned stifles. His movement was a joy to watch.
2nd Moss OUZLEWELL’S ARTFUL DODGER
Another very attractive pup whose movement was quite exceptional for his age. Again a lovely size and with a silky coat. and hare feet.

This youngster was so stylish on the move, a lovely size and with very sound rear movement.
He has a broad muzzle, small neat ears and the makings of a silky coat. He is square in body, has an excellent straight front and in time should develop a good width of chest. Level topline and the desired turn of stifle. Best Puppy
2nd Burns & Black YAMA TAKE A CHANCE
A lovely outline on this pup, just a little reluctant to move due to the drains below the carpet which was a great shame. He had a wonderful, silky coat, high set tail carried over his back His rear movement could still develop more in strength...

Small in stature and a well constructed, young dog with a cobby, compact body, level topline and very well set tail A super head, with the correct expression, head rounded in front and between the ears and with the makings of a fine, silky coat.Elegant and stylish on the move. One to certainly watch out for in the future.
2nd Bailey ALDORICKA THE GYPSY KING
Lovely type of dog, who was confident on the move slightly longer in body than the first but with fine bone and hare feet.. He has the desired expression with broad, rounded skull and small neat ears.Hi coat was in excellent conditiom.

Most attractive large broad head, with rounded skull, dark eyes set well apart and with a real look of astonishment, correct muzzle wide and well cushioned. Fine bone and with hare feet. Moved with drive both ways.Silky coat texture. Good width to chest, exellent shoulder placement and level topline. So sound and stylish on the move. Reserve CC.

This is another very nice type of dog. Well constructed and looks good in profile. His eyes are dark, head has such a handsome expression, sufficient reach of neck, with well developed shoulders. Positive driving action from behind

This dog was immaculately presented, a mature dog that is just so exciting to go over. Every part of him falls into the correct place. Broad, masculine head, rounded skull, dark eyes set well apart and with a real look of astonishment, short muzzle, that is so well cushioned. Ample reach of neck leading into level topline, and well turned stifles. His coat preparation was exemplary and his skilled handler got the very best from him. His elegant, stylish movement had good reach and elevation. He has the desired width to his chest, allowing him to move so positively coming towards me. He is a true showman and well deserved the Dog CC & BOB. and Group 3 placing.
2nd Rhode and Vincent CH. JAVALCY BIT OF RAZZLE DAZZLE
Another very lovely type of dog, with a most attractive expression. Good width to his chest, correct neck and shoulder placement, level topline and tailset. Fine boned with straight front movement. Such a pity that his movement was affected by his dislike for the floor. He is a worthy Champion.

B/W dog sporting a profuse coat that was also immaculately prepared.. He is a lovely size with fine bone,short in back and has a charming expression. Best Veteran

Very slightly bigger boy than first but oh so sound. Another presented in excellent coat, broad head, just preferred the expression of the first.

This class was difficult to judge as all three dogs varied so much in type, but they were obviously much loved. The first won on his better movement.

Loved the expression on this bitch, an extrovert young lady of lovely breed type. Her silky coat was beautifully prepared. She moved well both ways, holding a level topline.

A most attractive unexaggerated bitch, very pretty expression. Well constructed Square body, good straight front with ample spring of rib, fine bone and very sound on the move. My eyes were constantly drawn to her in the challenge Bitch CC.

Lovely type,with a beautifully rounded skull, ample neck with well developed shoulders, level topline and good depth to the body. Just unfortunate she wasn’t keen on the floor.

Such an extrovert bitch that was extremely smart on the move, holding a level topline. Lovely breed type, so sound moving true both ways. Long silky coat, level topline and tight tail set.

This bitch is so lovely to go over on the table where every part of her fits neatly into a mature body. Her head and expression are delightful, small ears set wide apart and with the desired look of astonishment. She has a profuse, long, silky coat that flows as she moves. She is not exaggerated in any way. I just felt on the day she was carrying a little too much weight on her shoulders.
