Critique

It has always been my belief that it is an absolute privilege to judge your breed club championship show so I would like to thank the membership that voted my nomination and the exhibitors who gave me their entries and so sportingly accepted my placings. On the whole I found something in every class that pleased me
however on the downside movement does need watching. It is hard to see your own dog move but get someone to move them for you and be honest with yourself on what you see.
It is such a shame that in recent times a real divide has arisen in the club and although the committee seem to be trying to ignore it, judging by the number of calls I received before the show from potential exhibitors apologising that although they wanted to enter under me felt they could not support the club given the present circumstances, the conflict is very real. So sad and doing the breed no good whatsoever.

BPD (2,0)
I do not intend to make individual comments on the baby puppies but will say this is where the future of the breed lays and seeing them I am very hopeful. The two boys were litter brothers and both showed lots of promise outgoing
and thoroughly enjoying their moment. The female was not quite as forward but such a little poppet I would have been happy to take any of them home. I wish them well for the future.

1. Lindsay, Grogan & Irvine’s Anjuli Edgar Allan Paw Avec Grovina BBP

2. Lindsay, Grogan & Irvine’s Anjuli Ernest Hemmingway Avec Grovina

BPB (1,0)
1. Leach’s Ashaka Between the Sheets (IKC) TAF

VD (2,0) 1. Burden’s Sangria War Lord. Shown in lovely condition, masculine with
appealing head and expression. Dark round eyes and open nostrils. Good lay of
shoulders and correct topline. Moved accurately with well carried tail.
2. Evans’ Evansly Emoji. Loved this boy’s head, with wonderful expression, wide
well cushioned muzzle. Shown in wonderful condition with gorgeous coat, a credit to

his owner. Such a shame he was not enjoying his day and looked like he would
rather be anywhere but in a show ring.

MPD (1,0) 1. Beadling’s Sharlana Eclipse BPD Almost 9mths, just right for
size, pleasing head with correct expression, well balanced puppy, a little reluctant to
move but when he did showed he was sound and true.

PD (1,0) 1. Newbury’s Sharlana Brandy Blaze BRWPIS Almost 12mths R/W
mischievous boy who just did not settle in movement therefore difficult to assess.
Pretty but masculine head, balanced outline and coat of excellent texture. Show in
lovely condition.

YD No Entries

ND (1,0) 1. Van de Burgt, Strange and Hampton’s Sangria take a Bow of Norvanik
Lightly marked B/W, pretty head with nice eyes and neat small ears. Could make
more of himself in the ring.

PGD (2,1) 1. Bailey’s Bentwood Wagmappa Suni at Aldorika. Attractive boy of
nice size with masculine head, small neat ears , large dark eyes showing correct
amount of white to give a good expression. Good neck and shoulders giving way to
correct topline and tail set. Coat of beautiful silky texture. Another who was a little
reluctant on the move. I started to wonder whether it was the blue matting upsetting
the dogs, or was it just lack of schooling.

LD (8,2) 1. Kannaangara’s Sangria PS I Love you This was a difficult class and
one of those that you question yourself a number of times, such a variation of sizes
and types. 1 and 2 came down to splitting hairs. My choice finally came down to size,
this boy was the size I find correct. Broad skull with wide open nostrils and well
cushioned muzzle. Moved sound and true fore and aft.
2. Oatridge, Grogan and Irvine’s Dalehouse Royal Sceptre Many of the same
remarks apply although this boy was just bigger than I was looking for he absolutely
oozed glamour and was presented to perfection, moved so soundly. Along with 3rd
in class a real example of how to present a dog for exhibition. 3. Martin’s Cranvarl
The Student Prince.

OD (4,1) 1. Rooney, Green & Green’s Jaschin Paws Star. Was really nice to go
over, lovely head with correct eyes and well cushioned muzzle, neck of moderate
length, well laid shoulders and short and compact body. Moved sound and true in all
directions and was in my consideration for further awards. 2. Farmer’s Sangria de
Ja Vous Super little dog of excellent type, so appealing, loved his head and eyes
and built on lovely lines. It was a shame this was another one who did not seem to

be enjoying himself and would keep dropping his tail when it mattered. Another day
could make a real difference. 3. Kannaangara’s Sangria PS I Love you

CHD (3,0) Now this was the class that took me straight back in time such quality I
was spoilt for choice.
1. Mills’ Ch/IRCh Ashaka Come To Bed Eyes RCC How aptly named I could not
take my eyes off him and he looked at me with such an aristocratic stare. I was
humbled to have the pleasure of him in the ring. Beautiful head with wonderful eyes,
wide cushioned muzzle. So sound to go over, short, cobby and compact, profuse
coat of excellent texture with correct feathering. Moved with style and elegance
covering the ground so well in all directions. 2. Quinn’s Ch Sharlana Swindler. A
very worthy champion, correct size and type, lovely head and eye shown and
presented to perfection just came up against a dog on fire but loved him. 3.
Rooney, Green & Green’s Ch Jaschin Working Man I Am

SR/W OD (2,0) 1. Lindsay’s Ch Cranvarl Roger at Anjuli DCC, RBIS, BR/WIS. I did
think there could not be anything to beat the previous class winner to the CC, I was
wrong! In walked this R/W boy who completely took over the ring. I’m sure much
has been said about him full of breed qualities and style, loved his head and eyes,
well cushioned muzzle, standing is outline is perfection but on the move he really
comes into his own, he went around the ring effortlessly with ease and style, why did
he need a handler he could do it all by himself was the impression he gave. Such a
joy to find a well-muscled toy dog without being overdone in any way. I was surprised
to be reminded I gave him a RCC as a baby thrilled to see the matured product.
2. Newbury’s Sharlana Brandy Blaze

VB (2,0) 1. Quinn’s Ch Harlouville Uptown Girl BIS, BCC, BVIS Was a real
pleasure to start the judging of bitches with 2 wonderful veterans. This girl was the
epitome of the breed standard exquisite head with an unexaggerated look of
astonishment, good width of muzzle with open nostrils, neat and cobby body whilst
still fine and dainty, she held her shape perfectly as she glided around the ring truly
at one with her handler. She caught my eye time and time again and just seemed to
get better with each minute. In the final run in with the superb male she upped her
game even more to take BIS and show that being a veteran does not hold you back.
Thrilled to have the opportunity to judge her. 2. Rooney, Green & Green’s Ch
Swifthocks Paws for Thought. An old favourite of mine and lovely to see her looking
so good. A very worthy champion, small, compact, and dainty. Pretty head with large
dark eyes, held herself soundly on the move really enjoying her day.

MPB (3,1) 1. Holland-Smith’s Sharlana Constance for Kirdanchi Although still quite
immature but showing promise, good breed type with nice expression. Good topline
and tail set although movement was a little erratic which I’m sure will improve with
age and practice. 2. Farmer’s Sangria Bellissima A very pretty little girl who was

so nice to handle on the table but was completely overcome with stage fright when
asked to move. Would love to see her again when she has had some time.

PB (1,0) 1. Lindsay’s Anjuli Bunny BPB, BPIS Just what I would look for in a
puppy, precocious and full of herself, confidence in abundance. This baby must have
a bright future, beautiful head with wonderful expression. To go over everything is in
the right place, she is in fabulous condition and so sound on the move. I will watch
her career with interest

JB (4,0) 1. Farmer’s Sangria Dolly Mixture Ultra feminine girl, pretty head with
large dark eyes showing correct astonished expression without being overdone,
good width of muzzle with open nostrils. Good length of neck and short, firm topline.
Moved soundly in all directions, still has some maturing to do as one would expect
but is shaping up to be one to watch in the future.
2. Leach’s Sharlana’s Fantastique Similar to first, lovely size and shape with pretty
head and eye, shown in good condition just not as positive on the move at this stage.
3. Swan’s Kassui Chaos.

YB (4,0) 1. Burns’ Adreem Tootie Frootie Another one who fits the standard so
well, she is a lovely size with adorable head, and large dark eyes. Great body and
bone whilst remaining dainty and feminine, nice silky coat coming in. Soundest
mover in the class. 2. Newbury’s Sharlana Lady Danger for Hermosoangel Built
on bigger lines than one but has many good qualities. Nice head with good
expression, good topline and tail carried well did not match first for movement. 3.
Swan’s Kassui Chaos

NB (3,0)
Disappointing class, all at different stages of development and one or two seemed
totally not feeling it today.
Swan’s Kassui Chaos pleasant head with good eyes, nice shape and make
carried herself well. Front erratic on the move. 2. Leach’s Sharlarna Nipantuck
Liked her size better than one and she had a pretty head but not concentrating on
her movement. 3 Bradley’s Sharlana Faking it

PGB (3,1) 1. Calvert’s Adreem Ruby with Somergemz Lovely R/W, shown in
wonderful coat and condition she had a feminine head with wonderful eyes giving a
gorgeous expression, nice wide muzzle with wide open nostrils. Good neck and
shoulders with strong level topline, tail carried perfectly. Moved soundly in all
directions, I’m sure we will hear more of this one. 2. Streek’s Sharlana Harmony
at Sherazade. Nice size and shape, head of good size and shape with decent eyes
but really not good manners (even if it’s how you feel) to poke your tongue out at the
judge. Coat in good condition moved okay.

LB (6,0) 1. Lindsay’s Somergemz I own her at Anjuli Another from this kennel
shown in excellent condition with good muscle tone. Lots to like about her, good
shaped head with expressive eyes. Good topline with well set and carried tail. More
coat would complete the picture. Moved sound and true in all directions.
2. Rooney, Green & Green’s Jaschin Curtain Call. A shade bigger than one but of
no detriment, another quality bitch who has everything in the right place and lots to
like about her. A little exuberant on the move can make her look a little untidy.
3. Bradley’s Sharlana Vivacious

OB (1,0) A very disappointing class where you expect the quality to really shine
only one entered who just did enough to take her place. 1. Potts’ Adreem Highland
Chincess R/W

CHB (4,0) This was a fabulous class and came down to splitting hairs between
them, could easily have given four firsts without any hesitation
1. Quinn’s Ch Sharlana Eye Candy JW RCC Loved this girl, so typical of the
breed dainty and feminine whilst cobby and compact wonderful head with expressive
eyes giving correct look of astonishment. Nothing overdone about her. Good neck,
shoulders and topline. Had that look at me I’m a champion look. Moved sound with
style around the ring. In the challenge had to give way to her kennel mate who was
on fire.
2. Van De Burgt & Strange Ch Norvick Candy Kisses, very close up on one and the
same remarks apply just thought one gave more of herself on the move.
3. Rooney, Green & Green Ch Jaschin Paws for Applause
4. Oatridge, Grogan & Irvine Ch Dalehouse Royal Seceret
