Critique

Minor Puppy Dog (1,0)

1st Thomas’ Threadgold Dan Dare at Javalcy

B/W puppy with a lovely head with correct eye and nose placement culmination in a lovely expression. Level topline and good tailset. His movement was a little slack in front, but he has time on his side for this to settle as he matures. Just felt he didn’t give all of himself today, despite empathetic handling by his owner. Nevertheless, I am sure he will have a bright future. Best Puppy Dog

Junior Dog (4,1)

1st Lindsay’s Cranvarl Roger at Anjuli

R&W young male, who oozes quality. Head carried proudly, he has a melting expression with correct eye, showing just the right amount of white. His nose, ear placement  and his lovely, cushioned muzzle complete his headpiece. Arched neck and level topline, with excellent tail carriage created a lovely, elegant square outline in profile.  Cobby with good spring of rib, well laid shoulder and turn of stifle. On the move, he did not disappoint, never placing a foot wrong, he covered the ground well with confidence, driving from his well-muscled hindquarters. Completing the picture was his lovely, conditioned coat which flowed when he moved. Delighted to award him  Best Junior, CC . I am sure this young dog will have a very bright future as he matures.

2nd Holland_Smith’s Kirdanchi Chisana Senshi

B&W with nice head and expression, although would prefer if he just showed a little more white in the inside corner of his eye. Nicely bodied with decent topline, with good tailset and carriage. Moved alright once he settled, but not as true in movement as class winner.

3rd Burns & Hampton’s Sleepyhollow Vincent

Yearling Dog (1,0)

1st Pearson’s Ereste's Raffles Exclusive

Heavier type, who was slightly longer cast. Pleasing enough head and expression. Level topline. Tail set is ok, but unfortunately he was a little tail-shy today. Movement was a little erratic, making it difficult to fully assess.

Post Graduate Dog (6,2)

1st Cayton’s Sharlarna Imperial Comanda

A very majestic sable and white, that caught my eye as he entered the ring. Lovely head, with expressive eyes, good nose placement. If I am hyper critical, I would prefer slightly less nose roll. Very good cushioning. To his muzzle. Nicely set, well -furnished ears. Nice neck leading into well laid -back shoulders, flowing into a level , short coupled body with good topline. Lovely ribcage, giving a cobby body whilst still maintaining refinement. Moved really well in both directions. Coat in full bloom, which was presented to perfection. Seriously considered him for the Res CC. Another with a a very promising future.

2nd Farmer’s Salvador Dali By Sangria

Very typy, dainty B&W male. Pleasing head with expressive eyes. Good nose placement and well-cushioned muzzle. Well-placed ears with good fringing. Level topline and good tailset. Fine boned, straight front legs with typical hare feet. Overall, balanced proportions, giving a pleasing profile. Moved well. Handled to get the best out of him.

3rd Bailey’s Mitapip Gentleman Jack at Aldoricka

Limit Dog (2,0)

1st Martin’s Sharlarna Trouble Maker

Won this class on breed type.  Lovely head and expression with well-cushioned muzzle. Balanced overall shape,  short-coupled with level topline. Coat in full bloom. Moved steadily.

2nd Harbron’s Seafar Secret Liaison

Larger type with decent head and expression. Enough neck, and level topliine , although slightly longer cast, with good tail set. Moved well enough.

Open Dog (3,0)

1st Lindsay’s Ch Anjuli Trevor

B&W male built on larger lines who oozes breed type. Lovely head and expression. Level topline, short coupled with good tailset. Abundant coat, but felt it was a little dry today. Very good mover in both directions. He is well muscled which gave him plenty of drive. A very worthy champion .

2nd Farmer’s Ch Sangria Moon Walk

Very different in type to the class winner, but exudes breed type and quality. Lovely head and expression, with correct eyes Fine boned without detracting from his masculine demeanour. Well bodied with level topline and good tailset, which was beautifully plumed. Moved well, but just lacked the driving action of the class winner today. Could easily change places on another day. He deserves is champion title.

3rd Thomas’ Javalcy The Great Mikado JW

Veteran Dog (2,0)

1st Pearce & Hann’s Ch Rakuchin Kenji Na

A very worthy B&W champion. Lovely head and expression with dark eye showing the correct astonished look. Good nose placement with open nostrils and enough cushioning to his foreface. Strong fine bone Well coupled and correct feet. He moves beautifully and is correct both coming and going. With flowing, high stepping action. A seasoned exhibit,  he still has enthusiasm for the showring and could give many of the youngsters a run for their money.  Beautifully presented in full coat.  He is a picture on the stand, and I could not deny him the Res CC.

2nd McFarlane’s Myojo Morgan At Glendyke ShCM

B&W male who has a pleasing head of correct proportions. Cobby body, with level topline and good tailset. Unfortunately today, the very warm weather got the better of him and he lacked enthusiasm on the move. Nevertheless, a nice veteran male, who was empathetically handled to get the best out of him

Minor Puppy Bitch (4,1)

1st Steele’s Threadgold Starstruck

B&W bitch who has a pleasing head and expression. Nice, overall, balanced shape with nice tailset. Heavier marked coat of correct texture which is coming in nicely. Moved well when settled. Lots to like and I am sure as she develops, a bright future lies ahead.

2nd Todd-McCoid’s Rubyanio Mildred

R&W with a pleasing head and expression. She was a bit reluctant to be examined on the table and the handler advised me that she had a fright at a previous show. Balnced shape and nicely marked coat. Moved well once settlled. Handled very empathetically to get the best out of her and to build her confidence. Worth persevering, I am sure she will settle as she matures.

3rd Hine’s Swifthocks It’s All About Me

Puppy Bitch (4,0)

1st Farmer’s Sharlarna Trinity

Lovely B&W with feminine head, correct  dark eyes, good ear and nose placement, with cushioning to muzzle, giving a lovely picture. Moderate neck leading into well laid shoulders and level topline and good tailset.

Moved well. Her coat is coming through well. Her skirt sticks out a bit at the moment, due to its length, giving the impression that she is long cast, but she is definitely not when you go over her. Moved well. Best Puppy in Breed.

2nd Pearce & Hann’s Rakuchin Queen of D’Nile

Another lovely puppy, who has a pleasing head and expression. Moderate neck leading into well placed shoulders, level topline and good tailset. Balanced shape in profile. Moved well in both directions. Lost out today due to lack of body, which I am sure will come as she matures. Lovely coat coming through.
