Critique

It’s always nice to have Susan and her therapy dog as my stewards. She did a wonderful job as always, thank you.

My original appointment was cancelled due to the pandemic so I was really looking forward to today.

I was faced with a few dilemmas with the entry; I have never had to think about withholding with any breed until today.

I deliberated with myself and decided to give the exhibits the benefit of the doubt, as it was stifling hot and humid and some were not showing their best.

It’s an expensive hobby, if our dog doesn’t enjoy showing, don’t put them through it. Enter them NFC, come along to the show with them and enjoy the social side with your pals.

MPD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3605 FARMER, Mr George William Sangria Rocket Man(NAF) – A dainty little pretty boy who has bags of potential. He has a lovely head and the correct desired expression. Ok neck, cobby body shape, high set tail. He has a straight front with nice bone, his rear is nicely angulated. His coat is coming along nicely. He needs to get to ringcraft sooner rather than later, he was very stubborn on the move today. He did just enough to assess him.

JD (2 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: 3589 ALLEN, Mrs Sue Sheardream Eric – lovely happy temperament on this young lad. He has a super well balanced outline. Attractive head, dark eyes, although could be a touch larger.  Correct nose placement. Ok for neck, level back, wide chest and excellent ribbing. His coat was silky and did stand out which was good. Nicely marked body although his white ear is a touch distracting from his natural beauty.

PGD (4 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: 3614 HOLLAND-SMITH, Mrs Susan Angela Kirdanchi Chisana Senshi – 18 months who is maturing nicely. He has a lovely Chin silhouette. Head fairly large, small high set ears, eyes are dark but could be a touch larger for ideal expression, well cushioned muzzle and healthy nostrils. He has a good neck, cobby body with level topline. His tail is set high and carried over the back at all times. He excelled in front movement, but a touch close behind today. Beautifully presented coat.
2nd: 3616 MCFARLANE, Miss & Mrs L & J Jesandakai koi no yokan – One of the best heads of the day. Broad skull. He has an absolute textbook Chin expression. Fabulous large roundish eyes with slight white showing in the corners. He has a nice cushioned muzzle with a good underjaw. Lovely length of neck and level back line. He is a touch longer in body than ideal and just needs to settle more on the move. Bags of potential, i liked him. Nicely marked coat which was presented in first class condition.
3rd: 3611 FLYNN, Mrs L A SHARLARNA EVOLUTION AT LINJATO

LD (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3594 CAYTON, Mr S Sharlarna Imperial Comanda – Easy winner here. Sable and white. One of the best presented today, fabulous silky texture and such a glamour boy. Masculine headpiece, ok eyes with the slight whites showing, and big healthy open nostrils. He has a good neck and dead level topline. His tail is carried over the back at all times. Could be a little cobbier in body for ideal. Nicely marked coat. Excellent front mover but just a tad close behind today. Well handled and schooled.
2nd: 3590 BURDEN, Mr Ian & BURDEN, Mrs Leonore Sangria Pamojill Private Eye – i deliberated hard on this exhibit. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, he wasn’t moving well but it was an incredibly hot day, the heat was intense. He was a good size. Nicely marked coat which was presented well enough. Head and expression was ok. Could have been more lively.

OD (4 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3602 FARMER, Mr George William Ch Sangria Moonwalk – DCC, BOB & Shortlisted in the Toy Group. His head is broad and is a fair size. Largish round eyes that were dark in colour, however would have liked to have seen a tiny bit of white in the corners. His muzzle is cushioned beautifully and is wide and short. He has a nice length of neck, excellent chest which was broad and with good depth. Level topline and a super cobby body shape. His tail is set high and his big plumed tail is carried over his back at all times. He could have a tiny touch more length of leg to complete the picture. The best mover on the day, so sound and stylish. Presented in first class condition. Well handled.
2nd: 3612 HAMPTON, ms L & VINE, Miss E & STRANGE, Mr D SLEEPYHOLLOW LOVE ME SIBBAI – a beautiful headed dog who demands your attention. A happy showman who was presented in first class condition. Lovely expression, healthy nostrils and the darkest of eyes. He could have a smidgen more neck to add to his elegant outline. Short cobby body with nice well rounded ribs. High set tail with a cracking plume carried over his back. He had lovely rear movement but pinning in a touch in front today. Sympathetically handled. RCC.
3rd: 3607 FARRUGIA, Messers Nicholas & James Yama Ghost Rider With Cholas

VD (1 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3617 MCFARLANE, Miss & Mrs L & J Myojo Morgan shcm – BEST VETERAN. 8 year old who was stylish on the move. Large and broad head.  He had an ok expression. Excellent cobby body with good rounded ribs. Correct tailset and carriage. He was shown in full coat which was nicely presented.

SBD/B (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3600 CUSHING, Mrs J Spiritisle Fairy Magic – 10 month sable bitch, she was in nice coat and nicely presented. She has a pretty head and expression, has a good neck and topline. She has a sound front and rear. She is a touch long in body for ideal and might look a bit better with a little more body weight. She moved soundly and positively around the ring today.

MPB (3 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3619 QUINN, Mrs T & Mr A Sharlarna Eye Candy – RES CC & BEST PUPPY. Absolutely adorable little B & W youngster who was quite sure of herself. Cracking head, she has the most exquisite Chin expression, showing tiny bits of white in the corner of her eye. Broad muzzle and healthy nostrils. She has an elegant neck, cobby body shape and a high set tail that she carried over her back at all times. She has a nice sound front with a typical hare foot. Her rear is tidy and firm. Moved a picture around the ring holding her shape. A stylish puppy with bags of potential.  Shown in beautiful condition.
2nd: 3610 FARRUGIA, Messers Nicholas & James Cholas Christmas Holly – A touch plainer in head than 1st and longer in body at this stage. Fabulous temperament and thorough enjoying herself today. She was shown in lovely condition. Moved soundly from all angles.
3rd: 3606 FARMER, Mr George William Sangria Moon Dance (NAF)

PB (3 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3624 STEELE, Mrs S.E. Threadgold Starstruck – B&W. She has the most typical eyes, fairly large, round and shows the correct look of astonishment. High set ears that will look better with more fringing as she gets older. Good under jaw. She has a super elegant neck, level cobby body. Shown in lovely coat and condition. Just needs to settle on the move.
2nd: 3604 FARMER, Mr George William Sharlarna Trinity – lovely silhouette on this B&W. Her eye is a good size but could be a little darker. Her muzzle is broad and wide. Excellent neck and head carriage. Level body with broad chest, high set tail. She just needs to settle a little in front but good rear action.
3rd: 3600 CUSHING, Mrs J Spiritisle Fairy Magic

JB (7 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: 3618 OATRIDGE, Mrs C M Sleepyhollow Peace Flower at Dalehouse – 17 months B&W. I actually thought maybe she would be my CC winner, unfortunately in the challenge she lost a little focus. Typical large broad skull, fabulous oriental expression and a good under jaw. She has a good topline, broad chest with excellent rib. Her tail is carried over the back at all times. She could be a touch shorter in body if I was being nitpicky. Shown in full bloom. Sound as a pound on the move.
2nd: 3596 CRANE, Mrs L Cranvarl's Macey Grey – This R&W has the most appealing head and expression. She was lovely to go over on the table, so nicely put together. Her silky coat was nicely marked and beautifully presented. She moves well from the rear, her front just needs to settle a little. Well handled and schooled.
3rd: 3624 STEELE, Mrs S.E. Threadgold Starstruck

PGB (4 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3593 CAYTON, Mr S Sharlarna Temptress – Ultra feminine B&W, who unfortunately left her party frock at home today. Gorgeous head and expression. Her muzzle is wide, big healthy nostrils and a typical eye. Compact body shape with good ribs. Sound straight front with fine bone. Her rear is nicely angulated with firm muscle tone. Flashy and sound mover.
2nd: 3595 CRANE, Mrs L ANJULI MARGO FOR CRANVARL – another nicely made B&W. She was in better coat than 1st but she lacked a little pizzazz. Large broad head with all the essentials. Her neck is good length, cobby body with broad chest. Her tail is set high and carried over the back at all times. Moved ok in both directions.
3rd: 3613 HOLLAND-SMITH, Mrs Susan Angela Sleepyhollow Cover Girl for Kirdanchi

LB (3 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3621 ROONEY & GREEN, Mr, Mr & Mrs S,J & A JASCHIN PAWS FOR APPLAUSE – B&W. A smaller made bitch with lots to like. She has a broad but feminine head, well placed ears with lovely fringing. Her nose is well placed and she has a good under jaw. Her body could be a touch more compact for ideal. So sound and eye catching on the move. Well handled and schooled. First class presentation.
2nd: 3609 FARRUGIA, Messers Nicholas & James Cholas Miki – a nice outline on this B&W. Her head is typically broad, correct eye and nose placement. I preferred the finish of the mouth on the winner. Excellent cobby and compact body shape. Her tail is high set and her big plume is carried correctly. Sound mover.
3rd: 3598 CUSHING, Mrs J KIN KOHANA of Spiritisle

OB (4 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 3622 ROONEY & GREEN, Mr, Mr & Mrs S,J & A Ch JASCHIN FIRST EDITION – BCC winner. Quite a heavily marked B&W girl who demands your attention. Her head oozed breed type, classic eye that was large, round and did show tiny bits of white in the corner. Excellent wide muzzle with quality under jaw. Sound shoulders with clean straight front. Her rear is nicely angulated. Her high set tail is carried correctly. She moves so stylish with lovely front strides, at times she can be a little enthusiastic. Presented to perfection and skilfully handled.
2nd: 3620 QUINN, Mrs T & Mr A Ch Harlouville Uptown Girl JW – Quite different to 1st, but still a quality exhibit. She has a big broad skull, correct ear set and nice finish of muzzle. She could have a touch more neck to enhance her outline. Level back, short compact body shape with fabulous ribs. High set tail. Moved soundly around the ring. Shown in lovely coat and condition.
3rd: 3597 CUSHING, Mrs J Ennistar's Niagara At Spiritisle

VB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

A headache of a class.

I think these two veterans would prefer being in front of the fire at home rather than a dog show.
1st: 3591 BURDEN, Mr Ian & BURDEN, Mrs Leonore Sangria Celebration of Sheonagh – a very nice type, she has a nice head and expression. Shown in lovely coat and condition. Her movement was sluggish and not enjoying her day today.
2nd: 3623 SCHER, Miss D Spirited Away Gillyflower for Kopykats TAF (Imp Po) – another sluggish mover. Her body is long and her coat could be straighter.  Her head and expression was ok.
