Critique
I want to say thank you to those who attended and especially with how hot the day turned out. A thank
you to my 2 stewards who kept things moving along nicely and for their good company which always
makes the day more enjoyable for the judge and exhibitors.
It has been a while since I last judged the breed and there are a few concerns since my last appointment
that I want to raise, there seems to be a trend appearing in the breed were eyes are getting very small
and also to much white in some cases the standard asks for dark eyes of good size with a small amount
of squint, also there are to many narrow chests again the standard asks for good broad chest yes some
young dogs may still fill out in chest but to many older ones wont, also we need to be aware that some
dogs are getting very narrow heads and nostrils and some very very narrow nares, this is not good for
the health of the breed and lucky some of the narrow ones today manage to cope with the heat, again
the standard ask for large nostrils. There is also a worrying today where the rear movement of some
dogs was literraly crossing over at the back please take a closer look at the movment of your dogs and if
in doubt ask someone to walk the dog for you so you can see where it needs to impove.
Having said all the above I was happy with the overall presentation of the dogs today and and my final
line up for dogs and bitches and finding ones as close to the standard as I could.
Minor Puppy Dog (1:0)
1, Davidson Sharlarna Gigolo B/w who has a good head for his age with well set ears, good dark eye
with sufficient squint, correct jaw with muzzle filling nicely, good width of chest for age which will fill out
as he matures, nice straight front legs which were well feathered, good reach of neck leading to well
placed shoulders and a good topline which was kep both on standing and moving, well set tail, good
rear angulation, moved soundly front and rear, a lovely happy temperment just a bit more body to
complete the picture happy to award him Best Puppy In Breed.
Puppy Dog (1:0)

with good feathering. Nice eye which was dark and had required squint, good well set nose with good

Junior Dog (5:1) this was a difficult class as all had good points and were at different stages of maturity
and no doubt will change places on a number of occasions.

then to a good level topline which was kept both moving and standing, still to mature into his ribcage,
good rear angulations, well set tail, moved soundly front and rear.
2. Blow & Allen Sheardream Eric this boy may look to be on the larger size but when you handle
him he is of correct size but with loads of coat. Has a good size head with large dark expressive eyes
and the required squint, well set nose with good size nares, good jaw and muzzle filling well, good width

presented to perfection just a little more weight would complete the picture but could not be denied the
CC and BOB - and despite the long day and heat he also went round the toy group ring to perfection.

Special Beginners Dog ( 1: 0)
1. Good Sleepyhollow Ricardo See post grad 2nd place
Minor Puppy Bitch (4: 2) These 2 girls are very raw and very similar in many ways and no doubt will
swap places but for me today my first place winner just had that little extra look at me attitude and a bit
more positive around the ring today. So my report is for both girls who have lovely heads which need to
mature, they have well set ears and good size dark eyes, for me both were a little narrow on nose and
nares but hopefully this will change as they mature, both have sufficient width of chest for the age which
will hopefully fill out with maturity, both have good straight front legs good lenght of neck which led to well
laid shoulders, both had good toplines on standing and moving and well set tails, both moved well front
and rear and were in good coat for their ages.
1. Quinn Sharlarna Eye Candy TAF - Best Puppy Bitch
2. Bradley Sharlarna Vivacious
Puppy Bitch (2: 0)
1. Calvert Jaschin Fendi with Somergemz b/w of a lovely size she has a good broad head with well
placed ears, good dark eye of sufficient size and having the required squint, good nose placement with
good size nares, good jaw with muzzle filling out well, good width of chest and straight legs, good length
of neck, spring of rib coming, good level topline both standing and on the move, well set tail, moved
soundly front and rear once the owner losened the lead and slowed down as when to tight on lead and
moving quick the movement was all over the place.
2. Cushing Spiritisle Angel Delight red/white who has a nice head with well set ears, good eye with
required squint and well set nose with sufficient nares, good width of chest for age which will hopefully
develop further, sufficient lenght of neck, good topline on standing but tended to arch on the move but as
confidence grows hopefully will settle, well set tail, on movement she was rather erractic and close on
the rear which could do with some roadwork and strengthing.
Junior Bitch (5: 0)
1. Oatridge Sleepyhollow Peace Flower at Dalehouse a b/w bitch who just simply is breed type for me
and the standard, she has a quality head that is broad and feminime with a large dark eye with just
enough squint without goiing over the top, she has super breadth of underjaw and well filled muzzle, she
had a good width of chest with nice straight front legs with hare feet and with good tight elbows, good
length of neck, good shoulders, level and firm topline which was kept standing and on the move, well
sprung ribs, good body, in good coat and well set tail, excellent rear angulations and moved with drive
and purpose from rear, side and front. Bitch CC and Res Best of Breed only losing out to my dog winner
on the move as I think the heat was to much for her today at the final stage.
2. Martin Sharlarna Bish Bash Bosh Another another eye catching B/W who was unfortunate to meet the
winnder today, this girl has a lovely head with well set ears, good dark eye with required squint, well set
nose with good nares, good width of jaw and just needs to fill out in muzzle a little more, good neck

length, level topline both standing and moving, well set tail, in good body and coat conditions, moved
soundly front and rear.
3. Crane Cranvarl's Macey Grey
Yearling Bitch (4: 1)
1. Crane Cranvarl's Macey Grey r/w who is at that in between and as like a lot of r/w can take longer to
mature etc but has a nice head with well placed ears, good dark eye with just enough squint, well placed
nose, sufficient width of jaw which will improve with age, sufficient width of chest, good straight front legs,
good length of neck, level topline on standing which tended to dip on moving, moved sound front and
rear.
2. Clarke Tismechi's Yumi b/w who is still very raw, she had a good head with correctly set ear, good
dark eye which could be larger, well set nose with sufficient nares, sufficient width of chest for age which
will hopefully fill out as she matures, good neck length, level top line, good body and coat coming
through, well set tail, moved ok once settled.
3. Cushing Aki Kaori of Spiritisle
Graduate Bitch (2: 0)
1. Holland-Smith Sleepyhollow Cover Girl for Kirdanchi b/w who was lovely to go over, she has a good
broad head with well set ears and good fringes, good dark eye, well set nose with sufficient nares, good
jaw and sufficiently filled muzzle, good topline which she held standing and on the move, well set tail, in
good coat and body, moved well front and rear.
2. Cushing Ennistar’s Niagara at Spiritisle (imp) r/w who has a nice head, good dark eye, well set nose
with sufficient nares, she is a little narrow on front chest, has a good topline and well set tail, for me this
young lady could do with more body and muscle tone and rear movement needs more work.
Post Graduate Bitch ( 2: 0)
1. Cayton Sharlarna Temptress b/w who is very femime but well made, she has a lovely head with well
set ears, has large dark eye and required squint, well placed nose with large nostrils and dark pigment,
good turn of jaw and well filled muzzle, had a good width of chest and nice straight legs which were well
feathered, good lenght of neck, level topline both standing and on the move, well set tail, good spring of
rib and good rear angulation, she moved with drive and purpose once she settled for her handler,
presented in lovely coat and condition.
2. Crane Anjuli Margo for Cranvarl b/w another nice young bitch. good broad head with, good eye which
was dark and having the required squint, well placed nose with good nares, good width of jaw and
muzzle filling nicely, good straight front legs and adequate width of chest, good level topline both
standing and on the move, well set tail, moved well front and rear and presented in good condition.
Limit Bitch ( 3: 1)
1. Lindsay Anjuli Agatha of Choya b/w bitch of smaller type but had a good head with well set ears, good
dark eye with enough squint, well placed nose which was dark, good jaw, good width of chest and
straight front legs, could do with more length of neck, good level topline both standing and kept on the
move, good spring of rib and well bodied, well set tail and good rear angulation, moved well front and
rear, just needs more coat to complete the picture.
2. Lindley Ouzlewell’s Arabella a b/w bitch who is simply dripping in coat, she has a broad yet femimine
head with well set ears and long fringes, she has an excellent large dark eye with just the right amount of
squint, good nose placement with wide open nares, good turn of jaw and well filled muzzle, a good width
of chest once you get under all the coat with good straight legs and hare feet, she has a good length of
neck leading to well laid shoulders, a good solid spring of rib and well bodied, she has a good topline
both standing and on the move and a correctly set tail, she has good rear angulation and moves soundly
both front and rear, today she had to settle for 2nd place as she didnt have the sparkle of my first place
but I feel this was due to the heat and amount of coat and good condition she is carrying. She was also
beautifully presented from top to toe and is a credit to her owner.
Open Bitch (5: 2)

1. Quinn Ch Harlouville Uptown Girl JW a b/w who is beautiful. She has a nice broad head yet feminine.
Had well set ears with good fringing, good dark eye with just enough squint, well set dark nose with good
nares and a good turn of jaw and well filled muzzle, she had a good broad chest and straight front legs
which were well feathered, she has a moderate length of neck leading to well laid shoulders, she had a
good spring of rib and is well bodied and muscled, has a good and firm level topline both standing and
moving, well set tail and good rear angulation, she moved soundly and with purpose both front and rear,
when standing she stood full square. RCC sadly she was either stung or nipped by something on the
ground in the challenge but the owner manage to get her settled enough to move in the challenge.
2. Lindley Ouzlewell’s Arabella - see 2nd in Limit
3. Smith Wyndcatch Constance - this dog was not giving her owner an easy time and maybe the heat of
the day was to much for her as she would not put her tail up on standing or walking, but I have to say this
please do not lift the dog by its tail on the floor as this will not help the cause please gently encourage it
up and over her back if she is unsettled for any reason.
Veteran Bitch (3: 1) 2 very nice bitches presented by their owners today and will swap places no doubt,
both presented in good body and coat condition.
1. Paradise Shardlow Knickerboka Glory ShCM VW well what can I say this 10 yr old b/w pulled out all
the stops and showed her socks off, she has a good broad skull with well set ears, large dark eye with
required squint, large nose with very good nares, good turn of jaw and well cushioned muzzle, she has a
good broad width of chest and nice straight legs and good tight elbows, moderate lenght of neck leading
to well laid shoulders, good spring of rib and nice and short in body, good firm topline both on standing
and moving, and moved soundly front and rear, in good coat the only criticisim is please do not trim the
feet of the feathering this spoils the final outline of the dog for me.
2. Whitehouse Denain Sweet Jamine b/w who is very femine throughout, has a nice head with well set
ears, nice dark eyes with required squint, well placed nose with good dark pigment and good nares,
good turn of jaw and well cushioned muzzle, had a moderate lenght of neck and a good level topline
which was kept on standing and moving, good tail set and good rear angulations, moved soundly front
and rear and in good coat and presentation.
Special Beginners Bitch (1: 0)
1. Radford Yama Whisper b/w who has a lovely head which is to still fill out, good dark eye, nice nose
placement with sufficient nares, good lenght of neck, level topline which was kept on standing and
