I was delighted to be giving my first set of Challenge Certificates in my beloved Chins at one of my favourite shows in the UK and I thank them for their invitation. The weather didn’t prove to be as the forecast and overall, the rain held off. I found most of my exhibits to be in good order and clean and well presented, although a couple did have knots behind the ears which will only be removed while drying and brushing at the same time, sometimes a drying cabinet just doesn’t do the job. I also noticed that the distinctive hare foot with the hair quill, so treasured in this breed is being replaced by round cat feet often trimmed into a quill.

Minor Puppy Dog 4/0

1, Fleetwood. Abbeyleigh Botan Maru.

8 months old, and very much still a baby, pleasing throughout although still looking and feeling a little rangy, this will improve with time, I am sure. Moved well in all ways, the spikey grass proving to be challenging. Pleasing head and a lovely expression, nice shape in profile, overall a very promising puppy.

2, McFarlane. Corrinwood Peter Piper.

8 months and of smaller, finer type than 1, once again very much a baby and needs body which I am sure will come in time. Moved well in all ways, another pleasing puppy.

3, Leach. Sharlarnas Rocketman

1, Partington Palmer. Sharlarna Starman TAF NAF

8.5 months, of lovely type of the correct substance and already a lovely cobby body, very pleasing head and expression, eyes showing just the correct amount of white, I found this young boy to be so charming, slightly hesitant but could be forgiven. Moved well and coped with the long grass so well. Presentation was excellent throughout, I am sure this boy will have a bright future , was pleased to award him BPD, BP.

Junior Dog 4/1

1, Rooney & Green. Jaschin Armani

12.5 months small dog needs body as he matures which I am sure will come in time, he moved well however on the table and stood he was very giddy giving his handler a hard time.

2, Farmer. Sangria Salvador Dali.

This boy was carrying a lovely substantial body, lovely type, however he had his stubborn head on and was another giving his handler a hard time.

Graduate Dog 4/0

1, Bailey. Mitapip Gentleman Jack at Aldoricka

Smaller type but beautifully put together, lovely expression and everything was where I expected it to be. On the move he was hesitant but once he gained his confidence, he covered the ground well holding his top line well

2, McFarlane. Jesandakai Koi No Yokan

Larger type than 1, carrying a huge coat for his age, this boy was hesitant on the table, once he let me go over him, he was lovely to go over, good spring of rib and good angulation.

3, Moss. Ouzelewells Artful Dodger of Delphlands

1, Westwick. Hin Satorie Almazniy Vihr at Sharlarna

3yrs old fully mature male, fabulous cushions below beautiful large dark eyes. Good lay of shoulder and correct bone carried on correct shaped feet. Moved well cover the ground well, while holding his topline. In full coat and was presented very well

2, Calvert. Sharlarna Touch of magic Omegaville

2yrs old male, another in good coat and well presented. he was a lovely boy throughout and in many ways similar to 1, however on the move I would have preferred a tight tail carriage

1, Farmer. Sangria Moon Walk

2.5yrs male, in many ways he still has a lot of maturing to do. on the table he was slightly hesitant to start with but then it was as if he just relaxed into it. lovely classic head with large dark eyes that just melt you. lovely length of neck going into well laid shoulders and correct feet. He held his top line on the move and moved out with drive and purpose but retaining his elegance. The presentation was the icing on my cake. I can’t wait to see him in another two years when he will be fully mature.

This boy was my absolute star of the day DCC and BOB, I was surprised to find out this was his first top award.

2, Westwick. Sharlarna Tyson

Mature male, quality in all aspects and showed himself well, beautiful head piece with good cushions and well laid shoulders, good spring of rib and a lovely cobby body .covered the ground well holding his top line, I would of preferred his tail not so flat on his back if I was being totally picky.

3, Thomas. Javalcy The Great Mikado

1, Erskine. Daniel Solnechny Angel For Ouzlewell

4yrs old, very attractive R/W male in huge coat with excellent presentation. Lovely soft expression and ear fringing the envy of most. This boy moved well and covered the ground well while holding his shape. He has lovely lay of shoulder and a good ribcage, more substantial than he looks. RDCC

2, Forth. Tillasby Samurai Sun At Sharlarna

Fully mature B/W male of 3 yrs old, another in huge coat and presented to perfection. Equal qualities in many ways to 1, however special mention must be made of the length of this boy’s skirts and tail furnishings. On the move I felt that he lacked some sparkle that I had previously seen from him, he was unfortunate to come up against 1 as both are worthy of top awards.

3, Potts. Holmchin Out of The Blue to Adreeam

Veteran Dog 2/0

1, Pearce & Hann. Holmchin Secret Affair with Rakuchin

8.5yrs mature male that doesn’t look his age and moved well through all ways, nicely put together and presented well. Full of himself on the moved obviously enjoying being out

2, Beadling. Sharlarna Tailor Maid for Dekobras

7yrs old, closer coupled than 1 and lovely to go over throughout, good coat and presented well, didn’t seem to have the enthusiasm of 1.

Special Beginners Dog/Bitch 2/0

1, Moss. Seafar Shikoku Of Delphlands

Male of just over 2yrs, nice to go over, although would have preferred slightly more length of neck and a shorter loin, heavier set than many however this didn’t stop him striding out as he moved around the ring well.

2, Robins. Yakedo Jean Genie of Seafar

Bitch of 2.5yrs, smaller in type than 1, hesitant on the table as it was, her first show, I could go over her well enough to assess her. Very pretty head and expression would have preferred a better topline and a higher set tail.

Minor Puppy Bitch 3/0

1, Bradley. Rossyn Emiko

Lovely puppy of just over 8 months old, really good to go over in all aspects, she needs to body up , which she will I am sure and settle into herself. Typical fizzy puppy, however moved well and kept herself together on the move. I see a promising future for this girl

2, McFarlane Corrinwood Pixie Dust

Smaller type and 8months old, another baby full of herself, she needs to get the idea of 4 feet on the floor at the same time. However, as she matures, I am sure she will. good coat texture, although will be too heavily marked for some

3, Fleetwood. Abbeyleigh Kiku Yo

 

Puppy Bitch 1/0

1, Crane. Anjuli Margo For Cranval

Lovely puppy of 9months, lovely expression and head, good shoulders and angulation. She was full of herself but still managed to get around the ring, not sure her handler agreed at the time that this was fun. Another one with a promising future

Junior Bitch 1/0

1, Rooney & Green. Jaschin Paws for Applause

Just turned 12 months, smaller type of girl, pleasing head and expression, needs to body and coat up , another one full of the joys of being at a show , gave her handler a hard time but moved well enough and covered the ground.

 

Graduate Bitch 3/1

1, Baranzeck. Cholas Mei.

Small bitch, very type and not the most confident, couldn’t hold that against her though, as she was with a novice handler, who managed to get her to move and show well. Good angulation on this bitch, would prefer her to be slightly more cobby, but that could come with maturity. On the move she tends to fly her tail slightly more than I would like, but that could be down to lack of confidence.

2, Brown. Cholas Tamiko at Rossvale.

Heavier set than 1, very pretty girl, lovely expression and good shoulders, she was carrying some weight and again I notice she tended to fly her tail on the move. Writing this I notice they are litter sisters.

Almost 2 yrs

Lovely bitch throughout, well cushioned face and lovely expression, good length of neck and good solid body. Moved well covering the ground well. Carrying a good coat of good texture, Well presented

2, Farrugia. Cholas Lucy Locket

Similar in type to 1 although smaller in size, pleasing expression and kept topline well on the move. In plenty of coat but different texture to 1

1, Quinn. Harlouville Uptown Girl JW

2.5yrs caught my eye as she walked into the ring, had the loveliest of expressions and good cushions, adequate length of neck and a level topline held well on the move and stood. Good angulation and lovely hare feet. Moved well covering the ground with ease. BCC, BOS , delighted to find this was her crowning award.

2, Hubble & Summerbell. Dabrives Silver Dynasty

3 yr old bitch, fully mature and shared many qualities of 1, lovely throughout, on the day she just wasn’t as refined to take the top position, I am sure she will on another day

3, Forth. Omegaville Ima Showgirl.

Fully mature bitch, with the softest of expressions, fabulous head and length of neck, strong shoulders and good angles behind, moved well holding her topline well. Coat of good quality but slightly out of coat today, with a full outfit she would take top awards RBCC

2, Rooney & Green. CH Swifthocks Paws For Thought JW

Smaller type of obvious quality, who I have loved and awarded her top honours when younger, still great to go over , however slightly out of coat and could do with some body on her
