I feel privileged to have been invited to judge the Japanese Chins at the East of England Show and I have been looking forward to the day with  Excitement. I was delighted with the amount of dogs entered  and the quality of the exhibits, in several classes I could have done with more than one first place card. This 8 month puppy has a lovely outline, correct front construction with corresponding rear angulation. Pretty head, with dark eye, appealing expression and lovely cushioning to muzzle. Moderate length of neck.  Good width of rib and level back. Straight legs, front and rear. Moved well, and presented in excellent condition. Best Puppy Dog

9 months baby who didn’t want to co-operate with his handler today. 

Very well-constructed, good size and overall shape. 

Pretty head with dark eye and lovely expression.

What an outstanding young dog. He has everything you could want in a Chin: square outline, large head; of good shape with dark eye and correct look of astonishment. He has a well cushioned muzzle, correct length of neck, with good angulation front and rear, good width and length of rib, short level back; with tail tightly plumed over his back. Shown in good coat, in excellent condition, well presented and moving beautifully, very pleased to award him the CC and BOB. I was delighted to see he was awarded Toy Group three.

Larger type than the first place but a nice boy. Well-constructed with large head and dark eye, giving him an appealing expression.  Good width and length of rib with level back and correct tail carriage. Moved well.

First of two nice boys, little to choose between them at present, the first has better cushioning to his muzzle at the moment. Nice overall picture, with good angulation front and rear. Appealing face, good length of neck and good width of rib. Short loin and level top-line, well plumed tail. Moved happily.

Good width and depth of rib, short loin and level top-line with tail plumed closely over his back, in full coat, he flowed around the ring. Pleased to award him the RCC
