I appreciated the excellent entry of 49 – a pleasure to have the opportunity to get hands on experience of quality in depth. The open dog class was deep in quality & I was pleased with the line up in both sexes. Many thanks to my stewards Jackie Smart & Clair Clayton.

PD 1 Choya Kamayo of Linjato, 7 months, beautiful type, fine boned & sound. Excellent head & eye, lovely cushioning. Could let down a little more behind but I liked him enormously. Great promise. BP; 2 Godheim Golden Buddha at Fochai, 9 months r/w, bigger & slightly heavier all through but having said that he has a beautiful head, is squarely built & very sound. I hope he has finished growing; 3 Rakuchin By Design for Kalamata. JD 1 Godheim Imperial Wizard at Fochai, elegant, lightly boned 12 month old with a lovely head. A touch straight in rear. Excellent silky coat. Lovely carriage & ultra sound. I preferred his muzzle & underjaw & that gained him a narrow win over 2 Yama Jeremy Sleepyhollow, 16 months, lovely quality & excellent body & scored in rear over the winner. However, I preferred the head of winner in underjaw & finish of muzzle. Excellent presentation; 3 G Golden Buddha at F. PGD 1 Queenslake Access Denied, 2 years 3 months, squarely built & with light elegant carriage. Very good head with good cushion. Sound on the move. I would prefer his tailset a little higher. Scored in ribs & body over the younger 2 G Imperial Wizard at F; 3 Queenslake Billy Bongo of Delphlands. OD Excellent class. 1 Ch Homerbrent Kotaishi of Choya, 3 year old in great form, exquisite head & expression, fine boned. Square & cobby, looking the finished picture. Sound with typical carriage. Had the finish of coat & body to take the class & BD & BOB; 2 Hysterical Samurai Sou at Shalarna, 3 years, lovely moving dog of excellent type, lovely head, light bone & square build. Pressed very hard, the winner just a little more finished but his movement, topline & carriage put him very close & he took RBD & should go on to better things; 3 Ch Sleepyhollow Raphael.

PB 1 Sidlyns Winds Of Change with Cranvarl, 10½ months, beautifully headed bitch who was the best mover in the class. Has lovely topline held on the move. Could have a shade more neck but full of breed type; 2 Shalarna’s Chianti, 8½ months, same size & with fine bone. At the moment a little soft in topline & can tighten up on the move but has lovely type throughout; 3 Threadgold Melody Maker. JB 1 Yama Josie Sleepyhollow, 15 months, small, exquisitely headed bitch with beautiful expression. Squarely built, fine boned. Carries herself well. Can firm up in rear but full of promise; 2 Jonsville Oriana Dainichi, 15 months, slightly heavier in bone but a very sound bitch who was not as settled as the winner & this showed in her topline. Quality head & good eye; 3 Cheekychins Esme. PGB 1 Choya Katsumi, 19 months, easy winner of this class, lovely size & square build. Sound action & good carriage. Very pretty head & eye. Should have a good future; 2 Godheim Fire Opal, 2 years, a heavier bitch but she won this place on her head & eye, scoring in finish of muzzle & eye over 3. I would prefer a bitter tailset; 3 Sleepyhollow Donna Elvira. OB 1 Amronchi Niina with Wyndcatch, 5 years, beautiful shape & balance. Excellent head carriage. Good coat & tail carriage. Excellent rear. Could be a little deeper in front action but for shape & proportions, excellent rib & coat she was a good winner of BB; 2 Javalcy China Doll at Threadgold, 2 years, great moving bitch with very good outline & excellent head & eye. She needs a little more finish to body but scored in topline to take this place. One of the best mover of the day, absolutely true at both ends & with some stylish lift in her front. I think when she bodies up & finishes in coat she will do really well. RBB; 3 Ch Nisyros Chindy Lauper Sings Sholeen.
