Windsor Championship Dog Show 2016

24th June 2016

Judge Mrs Shelia Vincent

Many thanks to the committee for asking me to judge & for their excellent hospitality as usual. Thanks too to the exhibitors for their entry & for their acceptance of my placings.

While it is lovely to see new people coming into the breed & the number of dogs being shown increasing, I do feel that overall the quality is dropping. The situation is not going to rectify anytime soon as there are quite a number of dogs who have been imported who have no pedigree connection to any of the established breed lines in this country & so it is going to be several years before new breed lines can be established. However I was pleased with my final line up in both the dogs & bitches. The DCC & BOB was awarded to Sleepyhollow Robson who looked an absolute picture on the day with movement to match. Full of quality, so well balanced, level topline, good shoulder placement, in excellent coat & condition, he moved round the ring with drive & reach & I was delighted later to see him awarded first in the toy group.

RDCC was Javalcy Bit Of Razzle Dazzle, a dog who I have often admired from the ringside & I was not disappointed in going over him. Well proportioned head, good eye & expression, well balanced, in excellent coat & condition, he moved well both coming & going.

The BCC I awarded to Kochou’s Rita-Haywooth Sleepyhollow, a very well balanced r/w bitch, again with excellent movement brought about by good conformation. In good coat & condition. Nice head, good eye, she was hard to fault.

RCC was Sleepyhollow Tea For Two, again a very sound bitch who pushed hard for top placing. Choosing between these two was really splitting hairs but in the final analysis I just preferred the shorter back of the eventual winner.

1 Pearce & Hann’s Stepheter Wanna Shout for Rakuchin, at 8 years old this bitch completely defies her age, in excellent coat & condition, she moved with purpose & drive & was unlucky on the day to meet such quality bitches in the final line up; 2 Burden’s Sangria Shakira of Sheonogh, another nice bitch, 9 years old, longer cast than my winner & not quite so positive on the move but a worthy contestant. Again in excellent coat & condition, both these bitches were a credit to their owners. MPD(4) 1 George’s Farmers Sangria War Lord, very attractive dog puppy, showing well for age. Good head & eye, level topline, has a promising future I am sure; 2 Thomas’ Isami at Javalcy, well grown dog with good head & eye, moved well; 3 Benton-Taylor’s Sansarc Loyalty Binds Me. PD (4) 1 Banks’ Choya Masuyo, a quality, well balanced dog with good head & expression. In good coat, moved well; 2 Rhodes & Vincent’s Javalcy Bugsy Malone, smaller dog in excellent coat & condition, moved well; 3 Schemel’s Hin Satori Terra Kot. JD (6) 1 Curwood’s Auralea Koko, very well constructed dog, well balanced with pleasing head & expression. Moved well. Rather unsure of himself today which precluded him from proceeding; 2 Allcock & Hampton’s Sleepyhollow Moulin Rouge, pretty dog in good coat & condition. Moved well but was slightly longer cast than the winner; 3 Schemel’s Chinart Yuunagi. YD (6) 1 Matches’ Godheim Stars And Stripes at Fochai, cobby little dog with lovely head & expression. Level topline, good movement. Just needs a little more time for top honours but everything to like; 2 Leach’s Ouzlewell’s Horoki, well constructed dog with pleasing head & eye. Moved well; 3 McFarlane’s Myojo Morgan at Glendyke. PGD (7) 1 Blow & Allen’s Wyndcatch Take It Easy, another dog that I have admired from the ringside. Excellent head, all male. Very well balanced with lovely reach of neck. Good coat, moved well. Must have a promising future; 2 George’s Farmers Sangria Back To The Future, very pretty dog with good head & expression. Shorter in the leg than my winner but moved well; 3 Dopson’s Fralee Harry of Jalindra. LD (9) 1 Rhodes & Vincent’s Javalcy Bit Of Razzle Dazzle. RCC; 2 McLeod’s Dunline Oh What A Night, very glamorous dog in good coat & condition, Pushed hard for first place but just preferred the head & expression of 1; 3 George’s Farmers Sangria River Dance. OD (7) 1 Allcock’s Sleepyhollow Robson. CC & BOB; 2 Rose’s Fralee Namakiki at Rossyn, cobby dog with good head & expression. Moved well; 3 George’s Farmer’s Sangria Lord Of The Dance. GCD 1 Quinn’s Mattadam Samurai at Sharlana.

MPB (10) Lovely class of quality puppies. 1 Morgan’s Auralea Sasayaki, very pretty bitch, well bodied with pleasing head & expression; 2 George Farmer’s Sangria Faberge, dainty little bitch, well balanced with pretty head. Confident for one so young & completely as one with her young handler; 3 Day’s Godheim Oklahoma at Dorcharday. PB (5) 1 Bank’s Choya Charlotte, outstanding well balanced puppy with lovely spring of rib, often missing from a lot of exhibits, with lovely head & expression. Very confident & sure of herself. BP, I was delighted to see her placed fourth in a very strong puppy group; 2 Banks’ Choya Carolina, litter sister to my first place, another very pretty bitch. Well balanced, moved well; 3 Bailey’s Threadgold Amazing Grace at Aldoricka. JB (5) 1 Crane’s Sleepyhollow Mary Poppins, pretty well balanced bitch with nice reach of neck,. Moved well, I understand that her win today gave her her JW, congratulations; 2 Allcock’s Sleepyhollow Mimi, another pretty bitch, litter sister to 1, not in full coat today but pushed very hard; 3 Davidson’s Hin Satori Evita Karmensita at Sharlana. YB (3) 1 S Mary Poppins; 2 Allcock’s Sleepyhollow Maggie May, yet another very nice bitch from the same litter but not quite so positive on the move; 3 Burden’s Sangria Etian of Sheonagh. PGB (7) 1 Davidson’s Sharlarna Betty Boo, reach of neck, she moved with style. I liked her a lot, not quite ready for top honours but am sure that these will come; 2 Burden’s Sangria Celebration of Sheonagh, another very sound & well balanced bitch who moved well; 3 Paradise’s Shardlow Yum Yum. LB (4) 1 Rowley & Wallhead’s Fralee Elsie at Merida, daintily boned bitch with pretty head & good movement; 2 Speight’s Bonniroy Yasafil, another nice bitch, heavier built & longer cast than 1 but moved well. OB(5) 1 Wallhead & Allcock’s Kochou’s Rita-Haywooth Sleepyhollow. CC; 2 Oatridge’s Sleepyhollow Tea For Two. RCC; 3 Grogan’s Ir Ch Axelwood Karmin.
