Judge: Miss Jennifer Matches

A very nice entry awaited me there are lots of very promising young Japs around which bodes well for the breed.

I felt soundness had improved since I last judged especially hind movement. My major concern this time was that several dogs had barely enough space between their two front legs for me to get two fingers between them, the Standard requires 'wide in chest cobby'. A narrow front does not allow for good reach or elevation when moving, please do not let us lose this as nothing is more beautiful then a Chin who moves in full flow.

VD (1) 1 McFarlane's Sleepyhollow All That Jazz, nearly 8 years, nice size, good broad skull & lovely expression. Moved well. BV. MPD (3) 1 Swanston's Arranbrook Mr Miyage of Pamojill, 6 months, very promising, good dark eye & correct nose placement, well set tail, acquitted himself well on the move. PD (8) This class was headed up by two littermates who I sure in future will swap places many times. 1 Banks' Choya Kiosha, very glamourous dog of good proportions & nice bone, moved very well & true, good spring to rib & cobby chest, well set tail. BP, pleased to see him shortlisted in the final, see he is sired by my BOB winner, obviously his fathers son; 2 George's Choya Katsuro at Amronchi, very nice young man, broad skull, I especially liked his head carriage, strong back movement. Lacked body due I believe to chasing the ladies! Pushed his brother hard however preferred the expression of 1; 3 Allcock, Lindsay & Pipe's Fralee Anthony Sleepyhollow. JD (6) 1 Farmer's Sangria Celebrity, very refined dog, lovely expression offset by beautiful eyes & nicely cushioned muzzle, moved & showed so well, nice coat of correct texture. Loved his outline when moving; 2 Gillhespy & Van Baaren Grob's Chinart Michael Pavlovitsj, this boy moved soundly & with precision. Up to size, cobby but in no way coarse. Nice outline when moving, pleased to see his hare feet which are so seldom seen these days; 3 Parry's Sidlyn Gone With The Wind to Gwynsias. PGD (16) 1 Allcock & Hampton's Bonniroy Yasebai Sleepyhollow, nice size, so compact & a good shape, moved well fore & aft, well set tail; 2 Jolley's Jonsville Evan at Dekobras, very outgoing temperament, another of a nice size, nice coat of correct texture, excellent tailset, moved especially well behind, pushed 1 hard but just felt he was slighty longer in back; 3 Bartlett's Pebblecombe Jinja. LD (6) 1 Allcock's Sleepyhollow Raphael, very elegant eyecatching dog of correct size & bone, liked his expression & well cushioned muzzle, flowing movement in class however in the challenge did not movement as freely as my ticket winners; 2 Bartlett's Vanistica Mahosukai of Pebblecombe, nice dog who I am sure will change places with 1 on another day. Well made boy, broad skull & nice facial features. Moved with good reach; 3 Thomas' Javalcy Call Me Mr Chivers. OD (10) 1 Banks' Ch Homerbrent Kotaishi of Choya, beautiful dog with an outstanding head processing a broad skull with well set nose, cushioned muzzle & nice eyes, very elegant mover, in pristine condition. CC & BOB, pulled out all stops in the big ring to go RBIS; 2 Parry's Ch Sleepyhollow Caruso with Gwynsias, another lovely dog who was unlucky to come up against 1. In lovely coat & condition, cobby dog with correct bone, moved with style. Preferred the expression of 1 . Could not be denied RCC; 3 Jolley's Danichi Sundance over Dekobras.

VB (2) 1 Goodwin's Vival Takahashi Lanola, hard to believe this bitch is 12 years ‘young ‘she showed with such energy, so sound & covered the ground so well, nicely set tail, a credit to her owner; 2 Robinson's Sangria Move Over Darling, very pretty bitch, nicely made, I especially liked her good shape & attractive head. MPB (11) Class full of 6 month old babies mostly attending their first show, getting everybody moving in the same direction at the same time proved quite a challenge! 1 Thomas' Javalcy Because I'm Worth It, nicely bodied bitch, broad skull with lovely eyes, nice coat for age, moved very well. BPB; 2 Jolley's Sharlana Dancing Queen, attractive little bitch, correct bone & pleasing expression, moved well for age, very promising; 3 Goldie's Arranbrook Star of Shadwell. PB (6) 1 Banks' Choya Kamiko, feminine bitch, broad skull with well set ears, correct silky coat, moved well especially in front, her overall type won her the class; 2 Paradise's Shardlow Knickerboka Glory, displayed a delightful temperament, nice expression with dark eyes, moved well; 3 A Star of S. JB(1) A. PGB (10) 1 Smith's Sidlyn Song Of The Wind, very sound nicely made bitch who is so well bodied. While not a glamourous bitch her overall make means she moves so well, pleasing head & good tailset; 2 Boulcott's Jonsville Secret Service, smaller bitch who is so pretty, I loved her sweet expression, very nice outline when standing, nicely textured coat. Just preferred the movement of 1; 3 Allcock, Lindsary & Pipe's Sleeyhollow Sapphire Diva at Anjuli. LB (10) 1 Spavin Harrison's Nisyros Chindy Lauper sings Sholeen, this bitch is so square & lovely size, very feminine & dainty, lovely expression, loved her head carriage, moved so well, so smart & seemed to put that extra ‘something ‘into her showing. Not in full coat but has nothing to hide. Pulled out all stops in the challenge to win CC, her 3rd I believe; 2 Allitt's Tillasby Hanayaka, another lovely bitch who is so square & compact, nicely bodied with good tailset, moved soundly & kept her topline at all times. Another very pretty bitch who was unlucky to meet 1 in such cracking form; 3 Dopson's Fralee Miss Daisy of Jalindri.OB (5) This class was headed by three lovely champion bitches who each process such good breed attributes. 1 Wainwright & Hodgson's Ch Jenan Tutti Frutti, this attractive bitch is so square, good topline & beautifully constructed. Sweetest of expressions & attractive head. Moved well in class but didn't quite give her all in the challenge. RCC; 2 Jolley's Ch Pochinka Polka Dot Dekobras,  moved so well, displayed a very happy temperament, in beautiful coat & condition; 3 Pipe & Lindsay's Ch Sleepyhollow Maria Callas at Anjuli.
