I thank the exhibitors for a lovely entry and for the gracious way in which they accepted my placings.

It was an enjoyable day, although somewhat marred by the fact that there were several loose

Drain covers under the carpet of the ring. It was almost impossible to avoid these as they could not be seen and this resulted in the majority of dogs being “spooked” by the unexpected noise.

Consequently, in some of the classes it was very difficult to assess movement.

All dogs were well [resented although several were somewhat underweight which resulted in them having roached backs.

My CC winners were both extremely sound dogs, in excellent coat and condition, and a credit to their owners.

DOG CC was Mrs Barlett’s PEBBLECOME JINJA – A really attractive red and white dog, with pleasing head and expression, good reach of neck, nice angulation in hind quarters and good lay of shoulder which was evident in his sound movement both coming and going.  I was delighted to award him his second CC and feel sure that his third will not be far behind.  In the final analysis, his long journey from Cornwall together with the long wait we experienced to get in the ring took its toll and he lacked just that extra sparkle.

BITCH CC – Mrs Smith’s AMRONCHI NINA WITH WYNDCATCH.  A Bitch that I have judged on several previous occasions, giving placings in the past but today she looked really fabulous! Very well balanced with pretty head, nice reach of neck, she has certainly blossomed into a lovely bitch and looked the complete picture both standing and on the move.  Well presented and in good coat she stoof out for me and could not be denied her second CC.  I was pleased to award her Best of Breed and to learn later that she been pulled out in the group for further consideration.
